NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Dec. 30, 2009 - Gamer Doc(R), the retail video game store franchise that delivers a new and interactive customer experience, finishes the year upbeat, and is looking to forward to continuing its winning ways in 2010. "Gamer Doc has found a successful niche, and our franchisees recognize that video games are still a bright spot in retail," said Jim Belanger, president and CEO of Gamer Doc. "Cash-conscious consumers are spending money on game rentals, used games and console repairs, and Gamer Doc is the only video game retailer that offers all of those services."

Gamer Doc stores feature "Gamer Centers" for Xbox 360(R), PlayStation(R) 3, and Wii(R), making it easy for customers to find games, consoles and accessories for each platform. Customers can buy, rent, sell, play, pick-up, pre-order or trade-in a game, drop-off a disc or console for repair or their PC for a game download, sign-up for an upcoming in-store tournament, or rent the Pro Player room for a private party. Gamer Doc also sells flat-panel HD monitors and cables, and the knowledgeable staff can show customers how to hook-up their systems for optimum game play, share tips on ways to improve their game scores, and answer any questions they might have.

"Video games offer the best value for the entertainment dollar and are a great way for families to spend time together, which is why they are so popular with consumers of all ages," Belanger said. "At Gamer Doc, we make sure that our stores are the place where all players, from enthusiast to casual to novice, will keep coming back for all of their gaming needs."

Gamer Doc® Video Games Works With Local School to Make Learning Fun

Store Offers Educational Games, Incentives for Good Grades,
And “Read for a Wii” Contest

RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 3, 2009 – Gamer Doc®, the retail video game store franchise that delivers a new and interactive customer experience, has launched several initiatives with Brier Creek Elementary School, designed to make learning fun. Owners Jim and Kim Hamilton have a designated Educational Games section in their store, are offering free play time incentives for good grades, and are conducting a “Read for a Wii” contest.

Kim, an educator for 20 years, said that she and her husband, Jim, created these programs because “we believe that through the use of entertaining educational video games, students can enrich critical reading and math skills, and improve test scores. Students can rent, rather than buy, games from our Educational Games section, including Brain Quest, Learn Math, Word Play and Professor Layton.“

Additional programs include opportunities for students to earn “Cool Grades” and “Pay It Forward” coupons from their teachers, which gives them the opportunity to enjoy an hour of free play in the store’s Gaming Room, and a Gamer Doc wristband. The PTA is being supported through a 10% giveback on the net proceeds from all games that are purchased by Brier Creek Elementary School parents and students between Oct. 14 – Nov.18.

“We want to provide teachers with extra tools that will spark interest in learning and encourage excellence in the classroom at all grade levels, and are very interested in working with all of our local schools to offer incentives for improving our students’ educations,” Jim said.

The Hamiltons will be hosting a PTA Family Night at their store (10251 Little Brier Creek Lane, Suite 104) on Nov. 18, from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m., with educational and other family-friendly games available for play. The name of one lucky student from those who participated in the “Read for a Wii” contest will be drawn at random at 8:30 p.m. The Wii will be donated to the winning student’s PTA.

“The introduction of these programs has been met with great enthusiasm by the children, which makes us feel that we are doing something worthwhile for the community,” Kim said.

First Gamer Doc™ Video Games Store in the U.S.
Marks One-Year Anniversary

“Awesome” is How Customers Describe the Highland Park, California Store

LOS ANGELES, Calif., Oct. 13, 2008 – Gamer Doc™, the retail video game store franchise that delivers a new and interactive customer experience, announces the one-year anniversary of its first store in the U.S. Jason Renfro is the owner of the Gamer Doc at 5917 N. Figueroa Street, in Highland Park, California, where his customers all use one word to describe the store: “awesome.”

“It’s been an incredible year, and I want to thank everyone in the community for their loyalty and support,” Renfro said. “My business has grown steadily over the past year, because we offer what no other video game store offers. Our customers can buy, rent, sell, trade-in and pre-order games, drop off consoles or discs for repairs, compete in tournaments, play games before they buy them, and can rent our ‘Pro Player’ room for private parties or a few hours of game play. We have worked hard on doing things that really fulfill what the name means. We are truly a Gamer ‘Doc.’ Our repair service is second to none. I feel like I’ve earned a PhD in motherboards.”

Renfro is a resident of Highland Park, and his store is in a location he specifically sought out, because he wanted to bring something new and exciting to the community that would also contribute to the local economy. The store is eco-friendly, built from 80% recycled materials, with solar panels on the roof for generating electricity, and no plastic bags are used.

Store manager Mark Ragonese attributes Gamer Doc’s success to the fact that “we interact with our customers. We’re not just trying to push sales, but enjoy the relationships we’ve developed with people, talking to them about games, finding out what they think, and how we can better meet all of their gaming needs. Gamer Doc is a great place to work, because we love what we do, and have fun with our customers.”
